Tyler Yates, a despondent twenty-six-year-old graphic designer, rides his Ninja 650 into an Oklahoma tornado in a desperate bid to silence his suffering. Twelve-year-old Adam Black goes night fishing at a remote spot he once shared with his grandfather. The old man is gone now, and Adam makes the eerie trip alone. While there, he witnesses what appears to be a meteorite plunging into the lake. The next day, he and his cousin Curtis attempt to recover the strange object. What they bring back triggers a series of increasingly disturbing events, convincing Adam the object is far more than just a hunk of space debris.
